What do you think about Brandon Marshall this week? I think he’s too good to not start, but ESPN projects him to only have 2.5 pts this week. If you want to see my roster, see the Uber Teams link. Thanks!
Sep 11, 2009 at 11:35:39
Brandon Marshall is definitely too good to not start, especially against the Bengals. He spent a lot of the off season trying to get out of there but now there are reports they are talking extension. I would play him. He is your best receiver with Boldin banged up.
Sep 13, 2009 at 10:28:04
would you start ray rice, joseph addai or clinton portis?
Sep 13, 2009 at 11:01:09
Both Portis and Addai have tough matchups this week. With Rice starting against the marshmellowy Chiefs so he should be able to break a couple so I would start him.
Sep 16, 2009 at 10:36:08
Would you start Ray Rice or J. Addai? Baltimore or Chicago’s D and Rackers or Bironis this week, please?
Sep 17, 2009 at 20:21:42
I would start Ray Rice. He had over 100 yards last week and he will find the endzone eventually. Also the chargers gave up 148 yards on the ground last week to the Dolphins 68. Chicago lost their heart when Urlacher went down, go with Baltimore. For kickers… a kicker is a kicker. These 2 will have equal opportunity for kicks, Rackers plays on a better offense so he may get the edge.
Sep 20, 2009 at 09:53:33
I am timid about playing Anquan Boldin this week. Also, do you think Julius Jones last week was just a fluke? SF did a decent job last week in shutting down the run against the Cards (which may not be saying much). Would like some input on these two guys. I’m thinking about playing Chester Taylor in place of one of these two guys above.
Sep 20, 2009 at 10:04:38
Also, what do you think about the Ravens this week? My other alternative is the Falcons. The Ravens really disappointed last week and Ed Reed may not play. Not sure what to do here… Thanks!
Sep 20, 2009 at 10:37:57
Flacco or Favre this week?
Sep 21, 2009 at 19:44:43
Sorry guys, we did not see a couple of these until after game time. Please try to get your questions to us as early as possible so we can get you the best information we can.
Sep 23, 2009 at 11:55:27
Flacco or Brady week 3
Sep 23, 2009 at 18:54:16
Brady has the better match up this week. Cleveland is only giving up 174 yards and 1 touchdown a week where Atlanta is giving up 229.5 and a TD a week. I would start Brady. Atlanta will be in the game longer then Cleveland so Brady will have to keep throwing. Cleveland will get beat up by the Ravens so look for a lot of running from them.
Sep 24, 2009 at 15:00:46
Buffalo (DEF) or New England (DEF) week 3
Sep 24, 2009 at 15:02:07
Ray Rice or Fred Jackson week 3
Sep 25, 2009 at 16:47:15
My running backs are bleeding badly after two weeks and I need advice. I have LT, Portis, Addai and Rice. I am considering cutting onbe of these backs and picking up either McGahee or F. Taylor in order to get some frickin points out of this postion. Help?
Sep 25, 2009 at 18:09:16
I have DeAngelo Williams, MJD, DSprole, and Ray Rice already on the roster, but Willis McGahee is available in our league. I have both the Chargers and Giants defenses, so it worth dropping the Chargers to pick up McGahee? Also, should I can Mason Crosby and pick up Lawrence Tynes?
Sep 25, 2009 at 18:38:37
You should definitely pick up McGahee if he is available. You can drop the Chargers for him, just keep on eye on your bye week. By the time the Giants bye week comes in week 10 you should have a good idea of whether rice or McGahee is more valuable.
Sep 25, 2009 at 18:42:33
McGahee appears to be more valuable than Freddie T. but I would reconsider your drops. If you are carrying an extra kicker, TE, WR2 I would consider that before dropping any of the RBs you mentioned.
Sep 25, 2009 at 19:04:59
I have to go with Ray Rice on this one. I love Jackson as a player but the Saints are only giving up 56 yards per game and Cleveland is giving up 205. 150 yards is too big a difference to put Jackson in.
Sep 25, 2009 at 19:07:18
New England. The Bills are meeting a white hot Saints offense. I would not play any defense against them at this point.
Sep 25, 2009 at 20:43:45
Fred Jackson or Corell Buckhalter? Justin Gage or Anquan Boldin?
Sep 26, 2009 at 10:34:23
Ok, so to be clear on your advice about not dropping one of my backs–you would suggest that I start Rice and Addai this week because LT is out and Portis isnt starting and is questionable, INSTEAD of cutting Addai and picking up either McGahee who I could start with Rice against Cleve? Or instead of McGahee picking up Julius Jones or F. Taylor who I like better than Addai? Thanks
Sep 26, 2009 at 12:40:54
Not at all. Our advice was to look at the rest of your team and see if you have any other players to drop other then a starting runningback. If you have roster restrictions that will only allow you to keep 4 runningbacks on your team then picking up a different runningback would obviously mean you would have to drop one of these 4. However if you are holding onto an extra kicker or a WR2 or WR3 then we would suggest dropping them and keeping all your runningbacks. Statistically Addai and Taylor are essentially the same player and both are in a committee situation so I would go with who you like best. Outside of his 63 yard touchdown run in week 1 against the Rams, Jones is averaging 33 yards a game and last week put up 11 yards on 8 carries and 3 receptions for -2 yards. So our advice is if you like Taylor or Jones better then Addai then go ahead and scoop them up but don’t look for much more production out of them. McGahee at this point looks like the most productive back in Baltimore. He has only about 20 yards less then Rice but has four touchdowns to Rices zero so if choosing between those 2 at this point I would go with McGahee. So again our advice is unless you have roster restrictions that only allows you 4 runningbacks on your team, look elsewhere for someone to drop.
Sep 26, 2009 at 15:48:27
Do you just not have an answer for me? OK I’ll try again. Buckhalter or Jackson? And Justin Gage or Anquan Boldin?
Sep 26, 2009 at 16:00:45
Hey Danny, we have been discussing your options. The stats on your RBs are a little deceptive. The Saints are giving up less than 100 Yds a game on the ground But their opponents have also bee down by 30 at the half so they have been throwing…alot. The raiders have been giving up 125 yds a game on the ground but for the exact opposite reason their opponents have been killing the clock. So…since Jackson is the man for one more week and Buckhalter is splitting time with Moreno, I would have to go with Jackson for one more week. For your receivers, I would have to go with Gage. Arizona has already said that they are going to take what defense is giving them so Boldin is a crap shoot, plus Indy has been lights out against the pass. At least you know that Gage is the first option is Tennessee
Sep 26, 2009 at 17:45:47
Isn’t Moreno on the injury list for this week?
Sep 26, 2009 at 17:53:26
He is a questionable and a game time decision which is why I suggested going with the guy that you know is going to get the rock. It is a tough decision either way because Buckhalter has been effective even as a back up.
Sep 27, 2009 at 09:47:10
Riddle me this…
Ray Rice vs ClE or Addai vs. ARI
Palmer vs PIT or Flacco vs CLE
thank you
Sep 27, 2009 at 10:05:25
Is Addai playing today? Peyton or Schaub? Donals Driver or Kevin Walter? Thx
Sep 27, 2009 at 11:37:54
You should play Ray Rice and Joe Flacco. Cleveland has one of the worst defenses in the league, especially against the run.
Sep 27, 2009 at 11:52:45
I have not heard anything saying Addai is not playing so I assume he is. It is tough to go against Manning but Jacksonville is awful against the pass and Arizona has a couple of ball hawks in the secondary to temper the down the field plays for the Colts. I would go with Schaub this week and look for him to continue on what he start last week. This one is close because both Driver and Walter are playing bad pass defenses. I think that since the Rams are only scoring 3.5 a game the Packers will be up by a lot quickly and then will turn to the run to kill the game so go with Walter because he will get more chances.

Mendehall,Buckhalter or F Jackson? Roethlisberger or Palmer?
Oct 3, 2009 at 07:18:30
Hi Dan,
So far this season, everyone I tell you to play seems to piss god off and ends up with 18 carries for 40 yards, but….. Mendenhall Seems to finally be in a situation where he can climb out of the Tomlin doghouse and the other 2 options have people in their backfield who are “The Starter” plus the Chargers have the 26th ranked rush defense. Seems like a safe bet. In your QB dilemma, Rothlisberger is the more reliable performer but Palmer is playing the Browns and is coming off a couple of confidence building weeks. Gut says Palmer.

That’s too funny. I haven’t given up on you guys yet, so hang in there. Thanks for the info.
Oct 9, 2009 at 10:55:14
Between Julius Jones and Tashard Choice for my RB2 this week… what do you think? Will Choice get enough touches to make it worth a shot against a crappy KC team?
Oct 9, 2009 at 22:19:57
I need an opinion on a flex play. McGahee, Harvin, Celek, Roddy White, or Wes Welker? I’m leaning away from Welker because I’m not in a position to check people’s status on Sundays. What do y’all think?
Oct 10, 2009 at 13:21:45
Of all the matchups I think Percy Harvin against the Rams is your best bet. Favre seems to have developed a strong chemistry with this young wideout and especially likes him in the red zone. I would go with him.
Oct 10, 2009 at 13:31:16
Felix Jones is doubtful to play in the game against KC so choice will get all of his carries. Plus with Barber still feeling his quad injury, if this quickly turns into a blowout, Choice should take over as the everydown back. I think he is your choice here.
Oct 11, 2009 at 05:37:33
McNab, Flaco. or Farve this week?
Oct 11, 2009 at 05:39:45
Heath Miller or Vernon Davis this week?
Oct 11, 2009 at 09:26:29
Miller against the Lions seems like the right play. Vernon Davis has had the hot hand, but any time you can get a play against the Lions take it!
Oct 11, 2009 at 09:28:57
Favre against the Rams, no brainer. Flacco is having a great season but whenever you have a play against …..I think I just said that about the Lions, oh well same logic.
Oct 15, 2009 at 17:31:24
Start Roethlisberger or Hasselback? Is Buckhalter worth keeping or should I consider picking up Leon Washington?
Oct 16, 2009 at 00:18:35
Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith (NYG), or Roddy White for WR1 and WR2. Also, Wes Welker, Ray Rice, or Darren Sproles at Flex (league credit for KR/PR).
Oct 18, 2009 at 09:15:01
Danny,
Even though Big Ben is player cleveland, I think that Hasselbeck is a better start. The Cardinals have given up more than 2 passing touchdowns a game since the beginning of last season. Should be a good day for Matt.
I think the Jets RB situation is still very murky. especially with Shonn Green getting mixed in recently as well. Buckhalter has been very productive so far this season in limited touches. I would hold onto him for at least another week to see which direction the Broncos go with Moreno.
Oct 18, 2009 at 09:27:46
Matt,
Welker is a must start against the worst passing defense in the league. He is at his healthiest point in the season.
Boldin is a PPR maniac, with at least 6 catches in the last 3 games. Roddy White had a monster game last week and is playing the Bears who have the 20th ranked passing offense.
The only reason I would shy away from Steve Smith is because of Manning’s foot. PF is a unpredictable and if he missed anytime today, Smith’s production will fall off.
Oct 23, 2009 at 16:35:28
I need to decide between Jason Witten and Heath Miller for TE this week. Unfortunately our flex spot does not allow a TE. Witten has been disappointing so far this year and Miller is on the rise. Any insight is appreciated!
Oct 24, 2009 at 23:54:01
Minnesota is giving up an average of 11.7 points against to tight ends this year which is tops in the league. The Falcons are only giving up 8.6. I say go with Miller
Nov 12, 2009 at 10:15:17
I know that neither of these is an ideal option, but they’re all I’ve got to choose from for my second RB slot. Beanie Wells or Justin Fargas. Thoughts, please.
Nov 14, 2009 at 10:46:32
Ricky Williams or Mendenhall? Also Cincy or Indy?
Nov 14, 2009 at 18:49:50
Williams only had 8 touches for 33 yards last week. He is only an option if he finds the endzone which he could against Tampa. I am always a big fan of going with the guy who you know is going to get the carries. This is a statement game for Pitt, they are going to want to exert their presence. Go with Rashard. That being said, Cincy has a better better chance to put up defensive numbers than the Colts. The game should be lower scoring and Big Ben is good for 1 pick. Plus, the Colts are not the same defense without Bob Sanders.
Nov 15, 2009 at 01:21:32
Wells continues to get more and more touches each week. Arizona should be ahead in this one so the running could be leaned on. I would go with Beanie.
Dec 8, 2009 at 22:37:39
Cincy def/st or Colts def/st?
Dec 12, 2009 at 22:08:50
Colts against the Broncos is a better match. then Cincy against the Vikings. With the Broncos there is always a good chance Orton will throw some picks.
