Pretzel’s Picks Week 11

November 20, 2010 Pretzel's Picks No Comments

Dallas Cowboys by 6 at home over the Detroit Lions

Dallas showed last week that if they actually want to play they can.  Even a bad Giants team is better then the Lions so the Cowboys should have no problem this week.  Boys by 14

Green Bay Packers by 3 at the Minnesota Vikings

Well this game should be the final nail in coffin for Brett Favre’s career.  At 3-7 the Vikings have no chance at the playoffs and I think Favre has finally realized that he should have retired before this season regardless of who Ole Chilly sent down to get him.  This should probably end Childress’ career in Minnesota as well.  Packers by 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars by 1.5 at home over the Cleveland Browns

Well both of these teams have looked good the last couple of weeks.  Cleveland had a blow out win against the Patriots and lost in overtime to the Jets.  The Jags however have beat the down and out Wade Phillips run Cowboys and the downward spiraling Houston Texans.  Yes these teams have looked good but against very different teams.  I look for Cleveland to continue play well by running the ball and McCoy play smart football.  Cleveland by 10.

Atlanta Falcons by 3 at the St. Louis Rams

Ok the Rams have been playing well and should continue to be strong down the stretch but let’s not get carried away.  The Falcons are one of the best teams in the NFC and should have no trouble against the Rams.  Falcons by 2 touchdowns

Eliminator

For my eliminator pick I will take the Tennessee Titans at home over the beat up Washington Redskins.  Watching Mike Vick single handedly destroy the Redskins last week was fun.  Watching Chris Johnson this week could be even better.

Pretzel’s Picks Week 10

November 13, 2010 Pretzel's Picks No Comments

Minnesota Vikings by 1 at the Chicago Bears

Usually division games are hard fought and come down to the wire.  This one will be no different.  The edge goes to the home team in this one as the Bears win by a field goal.

Buffalo Bills by 2.5 at home over the Detroit Lions

The Bills and Lions seem to be in it until the end but can’t pull out a win.  This week they play each other and the Bills will finally get a win.  The Lions have to revert back to Shaun Hill after Stafford with his second shoulder injury of the season.  A banged up Lions team won’t be able to pull one out on the road.  Bills by a touchdown.

New York Jets by 3 at the Cleveland Browns

The Browns continue to step up when everyone thinks they are out but this week they come up against one of the best defenses in the league.  Jets take this one by a touchdown.

San Francisco 49ers by 6 at home over the St. Louis Rams

For my upset pick I will take the Rams over the Niners by a touchdown.  Rams are first in their division and will continue to be this week.  San Fran are a 1 trick pony and once you stop Frank Gore they don’t have a shot.  Rams are a surprising 7th against the run and should have no problem this week.  Rams by a touchdown.

Eliminator

For my eliminator pick I will take the Buccaneers over the Panthers.  Carolina has a so many injuries it is getting difficult to name players.  The Bucs should have an easy one this week.

Pretzel’s Picks Week 9

November 5, 2010 Pretzel's Picks No Comments

New Orleans Saints by 7 at the Carolina Panthers

The Saints beat a tough Steelers team and should have their playmaker Reggie Bush back this week.  Carolina should be no problem for them. Saints by 10.

New York Jets by 4 at the Detroit Lions

New York will be primed to bounce back after putting up no points last week at the Packers.  The Lions have played pretty well but 2 wins in a row is probably a bit of a stretch especially against the Jets.  Jets by a touchdown.

New England Patriots by 4.5 at the Cleveland Browns

The Browns are awful and much like the Lions 2 wins in a row is not going to happen.  The Patriots look great at 6-1 and will have no problem going to 7-1 this week.  Patriots by 10.

Green Bay Packers by 8 at home over the Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys were awful with their starting quarterback, with Kitna throwing the ball Dallas should become the town bike.  Green Bay take this one by 2 touchdowns.

Eliminator

For the eliminator pick I will take the Falcons over the Bucs.  Even though they are playing a very tough division rival they are 16-1 at home over their last 17 and 3-0 this season.

Pretzel’s Picks Week 8

October 30, 2010 Pretzel's Picks No Comments
St. Louis Rams by 2 at home over the Carolina Panthers

People may not be paying attention but the Rams are actually putting together a decent season. They have won or been in every game except for the Lions game. Carolina is awful and will continue to be. Rams by a touchdown.

Kansas City Chiefs by 7 at home over the Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been surprising to say the least since Fitzpatrick took over although record will not show you that. Last week they gave one of the Best teams in the NFL a run for their money. This will be another close one against the Chiefs. Chiefs take it by a field goal.

Arizona Cardinals by 3 at home over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs certainly are not flash but seem to be a team you just can’t help cheering for. Last week they squeaked one out against the surprising Rams and this week should not too tough against a Cardinals team that is 3-3 despite their -62 net points. Tampa Takes it by a touchdown.

Oakland Raiders by 2.5 at home over the Seattle Seahawks

The Raiders are another team that is surprising most people with how good they are playing. They certainly surprised the Broncos last week when the score was 38-7 at halftime. The Seahawks are not very good outside of Seattle’s city limits and will not have enough to get by the Raiders in Oakland. Raiders by 10.

Eliminator

For the eliminator I will take New England over the Minnesota Vikings. Favre will probably start this game and so far this season has thrown as much to his opponents as he has to his own team, that trend will continue this week.
