Pretzel’s Picks Week 11

November 20, 2010 Pretzel's Picks No Comments

Dallas Cowboys by 6 at home over the Detroit Lions

Dallas showed last week that if they actually want to play they can.  Even a bad Giants team is better then the Lions so the Cowboys should have no problem this week.  Boys by 14

Green Bay Packers by 3 at the Minnesota Vikings

Well this game should be the final nail in coffin for Brett Favre’s career.  At 3-7 the Vikings have no chance at the playoffs and I think Favre has finally realized that he should have retired before this season regardless of who Ole Chilly sent down to get him.  This should probably end Childress’ career in Minnesota as well.  Packers by 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars by 1.5 at home over the Cleveland Browns

Well both of these teams have looked good the last couple of weeks.  Cleveland had a blow out win against the Patriots and lost in overtime to the Jets.  The Jags however have beat the down and out Wade Phillips run Cowboys and the downward spiraling Houston Texans.  Yes these teams have looked good but against very different teams.  I look for Cleveland to continue play well by running the ball and McCoy play smart football.  Cleveland by 10.

Atlanta Falcons by 3 at the St. Louis Rams

Ok the Rams have been playing well and should continue to be strong down the stretch but let’s not get carried away.  The Falcons are one of the best teams in the NFC and should have no trouble against the Rams.  Falcons by 2 touchdowns

Eliminator

For my eliminator pick I will take the Tennessee Titans at home over the beat up Washington Redskins.  Watching Mike Vick single handedly destroy the Redskins last week was fun.  Watching Chris Johnson this week could be even better.

I can hear the rants from my desk as I write this, everyone is screaming Mike Goodson, Mike Goodson….. I am going to be the lone voice of descent.  Don’t get me wrong, Goodson had a good week, but not a ridiculous one and let’s not forget, he was 4th on the depth chart behind a couple of guys you may have heard of, DeAngelo  Williams and Jonathon Stewart and we don’t know the status of either of them.  So….let’s get into some people you should grab.

Mario Manningham, WR, New York Giants – “Hakeem Nicks is a beast” as the guy sitting beside me at my local sports bar said on Sunday, but he is owned in every league.  We have been talking about Manningham all season and he has (for the most part) made us look good and with Smith out for the next couple of weeks, he is going to see a lot more targets, so he is a good grab.

Shaun Hill, QB, Detroit Lions – Another guy we have spoken about previously, seriously you need to start reading this.  It is looking more and more like Matt Stafford is going to miss significant time 2 things to keep in mind 1) All of the teams that the Lions face down the stretch are going to beat them 2) 5 of the 6 teams that the Lions face down the stretch have very suspect pass defenses….can you say GARBAGE TIME PRODUCTION, come on let’s all say it together, it is the cornerstone of Fantasy Football success for quarterbacks!

Keiland Williams, RB, Washington Redskins – Williams was the whole offense this weekend against the Eagles and although I often hesitate to suggest one week wonders, there are 2 things (again) that we know for sure which make this situation unique 1) if a RB can produce even when the team he is playing for loses by 30, he can produce…period 2) Mike Shanahan goes with the hot hand when it comes to running backs, he has no loyalty at all so as long as Williams holds on to the ball and keeps it moving downfield, he will play.  If he is available, grab him!

Mike Williams, WR, Seattle Seahawks – Yet another guy we have been talking about, are you noticing a theme?  According to ESPN this week, Williams is available in more than 60% of leagues right now! (so you are not the only one not listening)  He is the unquestioned number one receiver on the Seahawks and as I keep stressing, the hawks play bad passing defenses down the stretch! Winner winner chicken dinner.

Pretzel’s Picks Week 10

November 13, 2010 Pretzel's Picks No Comments

Minnesota Vikings by 1 at the Chicago Bears

Usually division games are hard fought and come down to the wire.  This one will be no different.  The edge goes to the home team in this one as the Bears win by a field goal.

Buffalo Bills by 2.5 at home over the Detroit Lions

The Bills and Lions seem to be in it until the end but can’t pull out a win.  This week they play each other and the Bills will finally get a win.  The Lions have to revert back to Shaun Hill after Stafford with his second shoulder injury of the season.  A banged up Lions team won’t be able to pull one out on the road.  Bills by a touchdown.

New York Jets by 3 at the Cleveland Browns

The Browns continue to step up when everyone thinks they are out but this week they come up against one of the best defenses in the league.  Jets take this one by a touchdown.

San Francisco 49ers by 6 at home over the St. Louis Rams

For my upset pick I will take the Rams over the Niners by a touchdown.  Rams are first in their division and will continue to be this week.  San Fran are a 1 trick pony and once you stop Frank Gore they don’t have a shot.  Rams are a surprising 7th against the run and should have no problem this week.  Rams by a touchdown.

Eliminator

For my eliminator pick I will take the Buccaneers over the Panthers.  Carolina has a so many injuries it is getting difficult to name players.  The Bucs should have an easy one this week.

Top Targets for Week 10 (free agents dummy!)

November 9, 2010 Top Targets No Comments

We at FantasyDraftMaster.com have only one goal, and that is help your win. To that end we spend every weekend watching 3rd down running backs for increased targets and 4th string wide receivers to see if they are making the most of the 3 catches per game they are getting. By now we surely have earned your trust in waiver pick ups ( I mean seriously Javarris James, come on). So here are so ideas for this week.

Jacob Tamme, TE, Indianapolis Colts – Averaging 8.5 grabs, 85 yards and a TD per game since Dallas Clark went down, Tamme should not be available in your league. However, if your league is like a couple of mine, people only notice Tamme when he got some primetime love this weekend.

Steve Johnson, WR, Buffalo Bills – Steve Johnson was on my list early in the season and he is now the 7th ranked wide out in the league. There is no way that he is available so this is a waste of time, but you know who might be available….

Lee Evans, WR, Buffalo Bills – Lee Evans has been all but lost in the emergence of Steve Johnson and the production of Roscoe Parrish, but Parrish is out now. This should put Evans back on Ryan Fitzpatrick’s radar. Good play down the stretch.

Randy McMichael, TE, San Diego Chargers – Antonio Gates was a late scratch this weekend with both turf toe and plantar faciaitis. People who were paying attention and played McMichael were rewarded with 2 scores. Gates’ injuries are the type that can linger week after week and McMichael has offensive skills that he does not get to display very often. If Gates continues to miss time, McMichael is a must start from here out.

Tyrell Sutton, RB, Carolina Panthers – Jonathon Stewart is Concussed and DeAngelo Williams has a foot injury. If there is anything the Panthers have taught us over the last couple of years, it is that the person who runs the ball produces.

Mario Manningham, WR, NY Giants – This is another guy I have mentioned a few times. Averaging 4+ catches per game and 2 TDs in the the last 3 games, Manningham will continue to be productive as long as the Giants are productive.
